Daily Quote
My participation to the races stays an act of will, and it is exactly in it that the thing distinguishes itself from the passion. I feel no need to race, but I feel even less some desire to not doing it. Jacky Ickx Daily Photo

- Mister Le Mans (for his 6 victories at Le Mans).
- Baby Face
- Pierino La Peste : when he was driving for Ferrari and because of his strong personnality.
- Ringmeister (for his racing behaviour on the Nurburgring).
- Rainmaster (most of time, unbeatable in the rain).
- God on wheels (Dieu au volant).

The racing track of Varano (Italy) called Autodrome Riccardo Paletti has a chicane called Jacky Ickx Curve. It was called like that because during the race "Corsa per il Friuli", Jacky went out of the track in that curve and got trapped in the sand.

|
The circuit of Zolder (Belgium) has a chicane also called "Jacky Ickx's chicane" as a tribute to the Belgian racing driver.

In the 80's while Jacky Ickx was race director of the Monaco Grand Prix, he was giving the start at the wheel of an Opel from the race direction. Jacky was jammed behind the start grid by an incident between two drivers... He led his opel in extreme cases to try to return to the stands before being caught up by the leaders... But the fight was too unequal, he parked his car right before the tunnel, a few seconds later the racing cars arrived. It is in my opinion the only example of tournament between a private car and F1 during a Grand Prix... (by Christophe Giltay.)

The 2002 April, 4th in TALLADEGA, Alabama USA , Jacky Ickx entered the "International Motorsport Hall of Fame" as well as Denis Hulme, Alan Kulwicki, Tim Richmond, Glen Wood and Ettore Bugatti.
Those enshrined in this facility are not only the best of the best in motorsports. They are an important part of the history of our world. They are the drivers, riders and pilots that took us along as mankind continued its quest to break through new limits. They are the designers, engineers, and builders that shaped the motorsports world. They are the great leaders like Enzo Ferrari and Ferdinand Porsche that built empires that still achieve at the highest level today.
We must all honor their achievements and be thankful for what they have done for us.
